Pregnancy is a happy time for any woman. But do not forget that the body of the expectant mother can withstand serious stress. Particular attention during pregnancy should be paid to dental health.
It is no secret that for the formation of the skeletal system, the future baby needs calcium, phosphorus and fluorine in sufficient quantities. And if the required amount is not supplied with food, then the baby will take the “necessary” from the mother’s bones and teeth. That is why tooth enamel during pregnancy is very vulnerable, and caries develops much faster. To prevent calcium deficiency, eat appropriate foods: cheese, fish, cottage cheese.
We take care of the gums
As a rule, pregnancy causes the strongest hormonal changes, which can cause gum disease. Specialists even distinguish such a disease as gingivitis of pregnant women. Symptoms are redness, swelling and bleeding gums. The gums become weak and vulnerable, there is a smell from the mouth. If you notice such signs in yourself – run to the doctor, gingivitis must be cured as soon as possible.
