Full Dental Implant Techniques

Implantation in the complete absence of teeth can be carried out in different ways:

Installation with single crowns. Instead of lost teeth, the dentist implants 12-14 titanium structures for each jaw. In the future, individual crowns are attached to them. This method makes it possible to provide excellent aesthetics, but in this case, the cost of implantation of teeth in the absence of teeth will be very high.
Making a bridge prosthesis. The technique is similar to installing a conventional orthopedic bridge. But implants act as a support here. To restore the dentition, they will need: 7-10 pieces for the upper jaw and 6-8 pieces for the lower one.
All-on-4 prosthetics (“All on 4”). It is often chosen if implantation of the upper jaw is planned in the absence of teeth, but the patient has moderate bone atrophy. The technique involves the implantation of four titanium rods. In the area of the front teeth, they are located directly, and in the lateral sections – under a slope, which helps to prevent damage to the maxillary sinuses and nerve endings.
Installing a removable prosthesis on implants. This is the most affordable option for implanting teeth on the entire jaw: the price of the procedure is reduced due to the small number of artificial roots. To restore teeth, only two or three screws are enough to securely hold the prosthesis in the oral cavity. And for hygiene procedures or before going to bed, the patient can remove the prosthesis on their own.

Kinds

Two-stage procedure. At the first stage, titanium rods are implanted into the jaw. Then it is necessary to wait for osseointegration: the artificial product must be overgrown with bone tissue. After that, the second stage begins – the manufacture and installation of the prosthesis. In most cases, for classical implantation in the absence of all teeth, it is necessary to additionally increase the volume of the bone.
Immediate implantation. This option is applicable if the patient has many mobile or severely damaged teeth. They are removed and titanium screws are installed in the freed holes.
Prosthetics with immediate loading. In this case, a temporary light prosthesis can be immediately installed on implants in the absence of teeth, and after engraftment, it can be replaced with a permanent one.
