Braces for two jaws

To eliminate defects in the dentition, braces are usually placed on two jaws. Not all patients understand why this is necessary. The teeth and jaw joint are a complex system, all components of which are interconnected. It is impossible to correct the bite only by adjusting one of the dentition. Moreover, this can lead to unpredictable consequences, so we do not recommend patients to save on the cost of braces for two jaws and seek partial orthodontic treatment.

What braces can be installed on two jaws

By location:

  1. External (vestibular). Such devices are attached to the front surface of the teeth and are visible to others.
  2. Internal (lingual). They are installed from the side of the tongue, so they are invisible to the rest; these are the most expensive braces – the price (2 jaws) is higher than for vestibular systems.

By type of connection with an arc:

  1. Ligature. The classic version, in which the power arc is fixed with elastic rings or metal wires.
  2. Self-ligating. Non-ligature systems, in which special locks are provided to hold the arc; in this case, the cost of braces for two jaws will also be higher.

By material:

  1. Metal. Differ in unsurpassed durability, efficiency and reasonable price.
  2. Ceramic. They have an aesthetic appearance (the shade can be matched to the color of the teeth), resistant to staining.
  3. Sapphire. They are particularly attractive (transparent, shimmer in the light), immune to food colorings, and have sufficient strength.
